Proposed Administrative Civil Liability Settlement – Northstar Mountain Properties
Water Board prosecution staff reached an agreement with Northstar Mountain Properties to resolve alleged violations primarily associated with construction stormwater control at numerous projects at the Northstar Resort in Placer County. The proposed settlement included a $2,750,000 administrative civil liability, of which $2,150,000 would go to a supplemental environmental project (SEP) for restoration and other work in the Martis Valley.
The Lahontan Water Board considered the agreement and SEP proposal at its July 23-24, 2008 meeting in Truckee. The Water Board directed staff and Northstar Mountain Properties to modify the SEP to include some riparian habitat restoration/forest thinning in the Northstar community, rather than having all of the SEP work occur on the Waddle Ranch property. Water Board staff expects to bring a revised SEP and agreement for the Water Board's consideration in early 2009. For more information contact Chuck Curtis or Scott Ferguson.
