Conditional Waiver Program for Grazing Operations in the Napa River and Sonoma Creek Watersheds
| On September 14, 2011, the San Francisco Bay Water Board adopted a Conditional Waiver of Waste Discharge Requirements for Grazing Operations in the Napa River and Sonoma Creek Watersheds (Waiver)
The Waiver implements the Napa River Sediment TMDL, the Sonoma Creek Sediment TMDL, the Napa River Pathogen TMDL, and the Sonoma Creek Pathogen TMDL. The Waiver is consistent with the State Water Resources Control Board’s 2004 Policy for Implementation and Enforcement of the Nonpoint Source Pollution Control Program, which requires that all sources of nonpoint source pollution be regulated through Waste Discharge Requirements (WDRs), through waivers of WDRs, or through prohibitions. Waiver requires that Landowners or operators of Grazing Lands encompassing 100 acres or more, submit a Notice of Intent to comply with the requirements of the Waiver by November 15, 2011. Landowners or operators are also required to complete a Ranch Water Quality Plan by November 15, 2012. RELATED DOCUMENTS
