San Bernardino County Municipal NPDES Storm Water Permit

Renewal - San Bernardino County Municipal NPDES Storm Water Permit

On April 26, 2002, the Santa Ana Regional Water Quality Control Board (Regional Board) issued a municipal storm water permit under the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit to the County of San Bernardino the 16 incorporated cities of San Bernardino County within the Santa Ana Region (Order No. R8-2002-0012, NPDES Permit No. CAS618036). The incorporated cities include Big Bear Lake, Chino, Chino Hills, Colton, Fontana, grand Terrace, Highland, Loma Linda, Montclair, Ontario, Rancho Cucamonga, Redlands, Rialto, San Bernardino, Upland and Yuciapa. The San Bernardino County Flood Control District is the Principal Permittee.

On October 26, 2006, the permittees filed a Report of Waste Discharge (ROWD) as an application for permit renewal within 180 days of expiration of their permit. Regional Board staff will prepare the next permit for San Bernardino County in the coming months and will hold at least one public workshop on the new permit prior to a public hearing where the final permit will be considered for adoption. It is anticipated that adoption will take place in the first half of 2008.
