San Francisco Bay/Sacramento – San Joaquin Delta Estuary (Bay-Delta) Program
Water Quality Control Planning
The State Water Board is in the process of updating the 2006 Bay-Delta Plan to protect beneficial uses in the Bay-Delta Watershed. The Bay-Delta Plan identifies beneficial uses of the Bay-Delta, water quality objectives for the reasonable protection of those beneficial uses, and a program of implementation for achieving the water quality objectives. The State Water Board will begin its planning efforts by focusing on the southern Delta salinity and San Joaquin River flow objectives and the program of implementation for those objectives. Following completion of the periodic review process for the 2006 Bay-Delta Plan, the State Water Board will undertake any additional water quality control planning that is identified through that process.
