Draft Central Valley Existing Conditions Report

Irrigated Lands - Long-term Program Development - Central Valley Existing Conditions Report

Central Valley Existing Conditions Report

  • Revised Existing Conditions Report - December 2008
Under the current irrigated lands regulatory program, the Central Valley Regional Water Board (Regional Water Board) collected water quality and other data and developed a draft Existing Conditions Report (ECR) for Central Valley Irrigated Agricultural Lands. The ECR was developed to establish baseline conditions for estimating potential environmental and economic effects of long-term irrigated lands regulatory program alternatives in an EIR and other associated staff analyses. The draft ECR was circulated for public review in 2006.  The Water Board’s contractor (ICF Jones & Stokes) and Water Board staff have revised the ECR to address the comments received and also to include the information necessary to conduct a programmatic EIR for the long-term program.

  • Draft Central Valley Existing Conditions Report, February 2006
This report will serve as a foundation to develop alternatives for a long-term water quality regulatory program to address discharges from irrigated agriculture. Public comments are encouraged. Seven public outreach meetings are scheduled. Comment deadline extended to 5:00 PM, 26 May 2006.

Draft Central Valley Existing Conditions Report

Comment deadline extended to 5:00 PM, 26 May 2006
Under contract with the Central Valley Water Board, Jones and Stokes Associates prepared the draft Central Valley Existing Conditions Report (ECR), which is available for a public comment period. This report is a major first step towards describing the existing regulatory setting, surface and groundwater conditions, and management practices within the Central Valley Region, and it will serve as a foundation to develop alternatives for a long-term water quality regulatory program to address discharges from irrigated agriculture. Seven public outreach meetings are scheduled between 13 and 22 March, and written comments are due by 17 April 2006. The attached Public Meeting Notice contains details about the public meetings and where to send written comments.
