Irrigated Land Regulatory Program - Water Quality
Management Practices Evaluation Program (MPEP) Groups

Northern San Joaquin/Sacramento MPEP Group

Management Practice Evaluation Program Workplan
The overall goal of the Management Practice Evaluation Program is to evaluate the effectiveness of management practices in limiting the discharge of waste from irrigated lands to groundwater under different conditions (e.g., soil type, depth to groundwater, irrigation practice, crop type, nutrient management practice).

The Central Valley Water Board Executive Officer approved the Management Practice Evaluation Program (MPEP) Coordination Agreement for the Northern San Joaquin/Sacramento MPEP Group on 17 June 2015. The primary goal of the MPEP is to determine the effects, if any, irrigated agricultural practices have on first encountered groundwater under different conditions.
