TMDL and Water Quality Report Cards

TMDL and Water Quality Report Cards

A TMDL project is a planned strategy to reduce pollution in an impaired waterbody so that its water quality standards are met. Improvements to water quality can also occur through alternative approaches to and/or in conjunction with development of a formal TMDL. Water Quality Report Cards describe projects where improvement strategies have been developed, or are under development, to address impairments. They include the overall project plan, the current status, and future work to be conducted. The San Diego Water Board periodically produces these report cards as part of its communication and outreach strategy.
