San Francisco Garter Snake Recovery Action Plan 2019-2029

The San Francisco Region Water Quality Control Board is currently reviewing an application for the following project for water quality certification under Section 401 of the Clean Water Act. Project Description:

The primary focus of RAP implementation is to enhance and protect habitat for the federally endangered San Francisco garter snake (Thamnophis sirtalis tetrataenia; SFGS) and federally threatened California red-legged frog (Rana draytonii; CRLF). The activities proposed in Cupid Row Canal and South Lomita Canal as described in Block 15, below, will further efforts to achieve the goals of the RAP by reestablishing and maintaining suitable open water/aquatic habitat conditions for both SFGS and CRLF.
