On March 7, 2000, voters approved Proposition 13, the Safe Drinking Water, Clean Water, Watershed Protection and Flood Protection Bond Act. The PRISM Grant Program, authorized by Section 79117 of the Water Code, provides a total of $10 million for funding competitive grants. These funds are made available as follows:

(1) Two million dollars ($2,000,000) for research and source identification.
(2) Eight million dollars ($8,000,000) for mitigation measures to protect water quality from potential adverse effects of pesticides.
