Clean Water SRF Economic Recovery Information

The American Recovery and Reinvestment Bill of 2009 (ARRA) was enacted on February 17, 2009. The California Clean Water State Revolving Fund (CWSRF) will receive an amount in excess of $280 million. Priorities will be focused on "shovel-ready" projects that will create jobs immediately. California Ranks #1 in the Nation in putting to work its wastewater infrastructure ARRA Funds. Letter of Recognition from the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure. As of March 31, California has put out to bid, signed contracts for, and begun construction of projects totaling 100 percent of the State’s funding. According to the U.S. EPA memorandum issued on December 24, 2009, the ARRA guidelines required the U.S. EPA to inform all States by March 8, 2010, if there were any remaining funds available for allocation due to projects not meeting the contract deadline of February 17, 2010. The State Water Board has been notified that every State and Territory met the requirement to have all ARRA funds under contract or construction by February 17, 2010. Therefore, the State Water Board will not receive any reallotment and reallocation of ARRA Clean Water funds.
