Scott River Watershed Curtailment Orders and Addendums for 2024 Scott-Shasta Emergency Regulations
Scott River Watershed Curtailment Status:
On Friday, September 6, the State Water Board issued Addendum 2 to the Scott River curtailment orders, which provides for the suspension of curtailments for overlying and adjudicated groundwater diversions if specific conditions are met, including flows greater than 33 cfs at the Fort Jones USGS gage and notifying the State Water Board prior to the commencement of diversions via email to scottshastadrought@waterboards.ca.gov.
Curtailments for surface water diversions remain in effect. Additional information is required from surface water users who wish to divert for irrigation if the suspension is expanded to include surface water rights. Further information can be found in Addendum 2 to Order WR 2024-0024-DWR and Order WR 2024-0025-DWR. The State Water Board will continue to monitor flows, flow forecasts, and watershed conditions regularly to determine if further adjustments to curtailments are appropriate.
