Tentative Orders

An NPDES Permit is being considered for nearly all municipal wastewater treatment plants in the region. The permit would reissue waste discharge requirements to regulate nutrients discharged from municipal wastewater treatment plants to San Francisco Bay. The San Francisco Bay Water Board will consider this item at its July 10, 2024, meeting. The public comment period is closed. An NPDES Permit is being considered for Phillips 66 Company, Rodeo Renewable Energy Complex, Rodeo, Contra Costa County. The permit would allow discharge of a projected 2.0 million gallons per day of treated wastewater to San Pablo Bay, along with once-through cooling water and stormwater. The San Francisco Bay Water Board will consider this item at its June 12, 2024, meeting. The public comment period is closed. An NPDES Permit is being considered for West County Agency; West County Wastewater District, West County Wastewater District Treatment Plant and its associated sanitary sewer system; and the City of Richmond and Richmond Municipal Sewer District, Richmond Municipal Sewer District Water Pollution Control Plant and its associated sanitary sewer system, Richmond, Contra Costa County. The permit would regulate the discharge of treated wastewater from both treatment plants to Central San Francisco Bay. The San Francisco Bay Water Board will consider this item at its June 12, 2024, meeting. The public comment period is closed. An NPDES Permit is being considered for Crockett Community Services District, Port Costa Wastewater Treatment Plant, Port Costa, Contra Costa County. The permit would regulate discharge of secondary treated wastewater to Carquinez Strait in Northern San Francisco Bay. The San Francisco Bay Water Board will consider this item at its June 12, 2024, meeting. The public comment period is closed.

The San Francisco Bay Regional Water Quality Control Board is making 5 Tentative Orders to terminate Cease and Desist Orders issued to Municipal Regional Permit Permittees in 2018 for discharges of Trash, available for public comment ending May 7, 2024. The Board will consider adopting the Tentative Orders at a public hearing during its June 12, 2024, meeting.
