90-DAY EXTENSIONS FOR LOCAL IMPLEMENTING AGENCIES
TO ISSUE UPGRADE COMPLIANCE CERTIFICATES

Pursuant to the provisions of of Chapter 6.7 Health and Safety Code Section 25284(g), six local agencies have requested extensions for issuing upgrade compliance certificates to tank owners. Those agencies are:

Tank owners within these jurisdictions will be permitted to self certify that their USTs meet upgrade requirements in Sections 25291 or 25292 (d) and (e). They must attach the following statement to their underground storage tanks:

“I certify under penalty of perjury that this tank meets the applicable requirements set forth in subdivision (g) of Section 25284 of the Health and Safety Code.”

Self certifications in all jurisdictions listed above except for Fresno will expire on March 22, 1999, or upon issuance or denial of an upgrade certificate by the local agency, whichever date is earlier. In Fresno County, self certifications will expire on January 1, 1999, as requested by the local agency.
