WHEREAS:

1. The San Francisco Bay Regional Board has a continuing need for laboratory analyses of water quality samples taken as part of its regulatory programs.

2. The San Francisco Bay Regional Board's use of water quality sampling and analysis is an important part of the State Water Resources Control Board's regulatory program.

3. The San Francisco Bay Regional Board needs to solicit bids for water laboratory services in support of its regulatory program.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT:

The State Water Resources Control Board:

Authorizes the Executive Director or his designee to negotiate a three-year laboratory services contract to support the water quality monitoring activities of the San Francisco Bay Regional Board in the amount not to exceed $320,295 in General Fund monies and $30,000 in U. S. Department of Defense-Spills, Leaks, Investigations, and Complaints monies for FYs 1998-1999, 1999-2000, and 2000-2001, subject to availability of funds.

The undersigned, Administrative Assistant to the Board, does hereby certify that the foregoing is a full, true, and correct copy of a resolution duly and regularly adopted at a meeting of the State Water Resources Control Board held on August 26, 1998.
