Orange County Municipal NPDES Storm Water Permit

Renewal - Orange County Municipal NPDES Storm Water Permit

On January 18, 2002, the Santa Ana Regional Water Quality Control Board (Regional Board) issued a municipal storm water National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit to the County of Orange and the 25 incorporated cities within the Santa Ana region. ( Order No. R8-2002-0010 NPDES Permit No. CAS618030 )

On July 21, 2006, in compliance with their current permit, the permittees filed a Report of Waste Discharge (ROWD) 180 days prior to the expiration of their current permit. Over the next two to three months, Regional Board staff will be preparing the next permit for Orange County. Following completion of that permit, Region Board staff will hold at least one public workshop on the new permit prior to a public hearing where the final permit will be considered for adoption. It is anticipated that adoption should take place in early 2009.

During this process, Regional Board staff will post submittals and Regional Board documents on this website.  Posting will be announced to interested parties using the Regional Board's E-Mail Notification System (see link below on subscribing to this list and note that you must re-subscribe when changing email addresses).  While there will be opportunity for public comment during the public workshop(s) and public hearing, Regional Board staff welcomes comments from the public at any time during this process.  Comments should be submitted to Marc Brown at: mbrown@waterboards.ca.gov or
