San Diego Region - Sanitary Sewer Overflow Database
Sanitary sewer overflow data are self-reported by sewer agencies under penalty of perjury. Regional Board staff attempts to verify, but cannot guarantee, the accuracy or completeness of the information. Since implementation of the regulatory program under Order No. 96-04, the consistency of the data since fiscal year 1996-97 is expected to have improved compared to previous years. Sewer overflows that occurred after January 1, 2007 are reported directly by the sewer agencies to the California Integrated Water Quality System (CIWQS).
Below are links to Excel spreadsheets containing sewer overflow data by state fiscal year (July 1st – June 30th) through June 2006. Columns with blue-colored headings contain data that has not been adjusted by the Regional Board. Columns in pink indicate data that may have been corrected or adjusted by the Regional Board to ensure completeness, accuracy and consistency. Columns in orange contain information added by the Regional Board.
