SFPP Alameda Creek Riprap Removal And Restoration Project


The San Francisco Regional Water Quality Control Board is currently reviewing an application for the following project for water quality certification under Section 401 of the Clean Water Act. We encourage public comments on the proposed work, which will be considered in the decision on certification. You may submit comments on this project to the staff member below.

Project Description:

SFPP repaired an exposure of the LS-16 within Alameda Creek as part of an emergency project in 2020 by placing riprap over the exposed section of pipeline. To remain in compliance with the conditions outlined in the 2020 permit authorizations, SFPP plans to install a new section of pipeline beneath Alameda Creek via Horizontal Directional Drill (HDD) and remove the existing riprap and exposed pipeline section crossing the creek.
