Current NPDES Permit for Naval Base San Diego (including Graving Dock)

The Naval Base San Diego Complex is comprised of the following four installations: Naval Base San Diego – main base (NBSD), Broadway Complex, Mission Gorge Recreational Facility (MGRF; also known as Admiral Baker Field), and the Naval Medical Center, San Diego (NMCSD). Discharges covered by Order No. R9-2013-0064 include industrial storm water;  steam condensate;  pier boom, fender, and mooring cleaning;  utility vault and manhole dewatering; miscellaneous discharges associated with facility maintenance; graving dock de-flooding water; caisson gate ballast water; seawater cooling overboard discharges; and saltwater supply system water.

Naval Base Coronado

The Facility is comprised of the following installations: Naval Air Station, North Island (NASNI); Naval Amphibious Base, Coronado (NAB); Naval Outlying Landing Field, Imperial Beach (NOLF); Naval Radio Receiving Facility (NRRF); Naval Auxiliary Landing Field, San Clemente Island (NALF); La Posta Mountain Warfare Training Center (La Posta MWTC); and Camp Morena.  Discharges covered by the Order include industrial storm water;  steam condensate; diesel engine cooling water; pier boom cleaning; utility vault and manhole dewatering, pier cleaning; reverse osmosis water purification unit; boat rinsing; swimmer rinsing; marine mammal enclosure cleaning; miscellaneous discharges associated with facility maintenance; and ship repair and maintenance activities.

Naval Base Point Loma

The Facility is comprised of the following installations: Naval Submarine Base, San Diego (SUBASE); Magnetic Silencing Facility (MSF); Fleet Anti-Submarine Warfare Training Center, Pacific (FASW); Navy Public Works Center, Taylor Street Facility (PWC TSF); Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center, San Diego, Point Loma Campus (SSC San Diego PLC); Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center, Old Town Campus (SSC San Diego OTC); Fleet Combat Training Center, Pacific (FCTCPAC); and Fleet and Industrial Supply Center (FISC), Point Loma.  Discharges covered by the Order include utility vault and manhole cleaning; steam condensate; cooling water; ARCO ballast tanks; MSF pier washing; dolphin pools; unused San Diego Bay water; abalone tanks & bioassay trailer discharges; pier boom cleaning; mammal enclosure cleaning; small boat rinsing; and miscellaneous discharges (landscape watering runoff, potable water & fire system maintenance).
