Project Name:

Goat Rock BHR Pond PA 163 De-sedimentation and Repair Project
City/County:

Unincorporated, Alameda County
Comment Period:

7/18/2025 - 8/7/2025
Project Description:

The Pond has become overgrown with cattails and has accumulated sediment over time due to natural erosion of the above ephemeral drainage. Additionally, both the spillway and pond bank have been trampled by cattle, causing erosion and destabilization concerns. To maintain appropriate depths to support California red-legged frog and California tiger salamander breeding and to meet the goals of the Sunol MMP, the Project proposes deepening the pond via the dredging of sediment removal, reinforcing the spillway with riprap within the existing grade and footprint, and reinforcing the pond embankment with compacted site sourced soil and native vegetation within the existing grade and footprint.
