Nicasio Reservoir Vegetation Management Project
The San Francisco Regional Water Quality Control Board is currently reviewing an application for the following project for water quality certification under Section 401 of the Clean Water Act. | Project Description: |
The Project proposes to manage local flood risk prior to forecasted 2026/2027 El Niño winter conditions, which are expected to increase the intensity of winter storms and potential flooding in the Project area. Marin Water is currently developing a long-term flood risk management plan for Upper Nicasio Creek using hydraulic models to inform a future Long-Term Maintenance Project. The proposed Project includes immediate vegetation-maintenance activities to protect the Nicasio community, including Nicasio Elementary School, private properties, and surrounding infrastructure, from substantial flooding forecasted in the upcoming wet season. |
