Employee Recognition

Employee recognition programs reward employees for a variety of reasons; from performing their daily jobs well to going above and beyond the call of duty. Below is information about the authorized Employee Recognition Award (ERA) and statewide Merit Award Program. Central Valley Water Board staff should obtain the necessary approvals within your office before conducting formal recognition activities.

• Employee Recognition Award (ERA) - Monthly
  The ERA is intended to recognize employees and senior staff who have performed above and beyond their normal call of duty. The ERA is merit-based and presented at each monthly all-staff meeting in each respective Central Valley Water Board office.
• Superior/Sustained Accomplishment Awards (SAA/SSAA)
  

  The CalHR Merit Award Program is responsible for the administration of the Superior Accomplishment Awards (SAA) and the Sustained Superior Accomplishment Awards (SSAA). These awards are for exceptional contributions to State government. Specific areas of accomplishment may include the following topics:

  • An important contribution to science, research, or development.
  • An unequaled personal effort in overcoming unusual difficulties or obstacles in the completion of a major project or task with substantial benefits to the state.
  • Completion of a major project or task in a significantly shorter period of time with substantial benefits to the State.
