Approval of Nitrate Control Program Initial Assessment for Rice in the Sacramento Valley

In May 2022 the Central Valley Water Board approved a Nitrate Initial Assessment proactively submitted by the California Rice Commission for rice lands in the Sacramento Valley. This submission successfully complied with the Individual Permitting Approach of the Central Valley Nitrate Control Program, in advance of the California Rice Commission receiving a Notice to Comply for the rice land portion of the Yolo Priority 2 Basin.
