Central Coast Storm Water Program

The Central Coast Stormwater Program regulates stormwater discharges from municipalities and construction and industrial activities, to protect, maintain and improve watershed processes affected by stormwater runoff.

The Storm Water Program is a National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Program implemented in two phases. The November 16, 1990 Federal Register describes the Phase I regulations and the December 8, 1999 Federal Register describes the Phase II regulations. The State of California carries out the stormwater regulations according to the California Water Code.

The Central Coast Storm Water Program carries out its purpose by permitting the following categories of potential pollution sources:
