Our mission is to educate all Californians about the importance of water quality so that they will support our efforts and understand their role in protecting our state’s rivers, lakes, streams and coastal waters.

Through this program, the State Water Board has developed a new educational curriculum and outreach tools and materials (see Erase the Waste) to inform the public and its varied stakeholders about the Board and its mission and to involve them in water quality decisions and pollution prevention efforts. The goal is emphasized in the Board's Strategic Plan.

Our Education Program promotes existing water education resources to benefit our varied stakeholder groups
