Project Description:
Solano Irrigation District (SID) is the Licensee, owner, and operator of the Monticello Power Plant Project (Project), Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) Project No. 2780. The Project’s powerhouse is located at the base of Monticello Dam, below the non-project Lake Berryessa, on Putah Creek approximately 8.5 miles west of the City of Winters and 25 miles northeast of the City of Napa, California. The 11.5-megawatt Project includes one powerhouse containing three turbine-generator units, two penstock extensions, and one switchyard. Power from the Project is provided from the Project’s switchyard to the grid via Pacific Gas & Electric Company’s existing Monticello Tap 115-kilovolt Line, FERC Project No. 5828. The Project does not include Monticello Dam, which is separately owned and managed by the United States Department of the Interior, Bureau of Reclamation.
On December 12, 2025, SID filed a notice of intent (NOI) to prepare a license application and a pre-application document (PAD) for the Monticello Power Plant relicensing project.
