TLS-350, 350R Series, TLS-450, TLS-4 8601 Series, Series, Red Jacket ProMax with
Discriminating Interstitial Sensor 794380-343, Micro Sensor 794380-344

Output type: qualitative, discriminating *(794380-343), non-discriminating (794380-344)
Sampling frequency: continuous
Operating principle: optical sensor and conductivity (794380-343), optical sensor (794380-344)

Test Results:
*California requires annual certification of all leak detection equipment. The certification of discriminating sensors should include functional testing of both water and product detection capabilities.

Model 794380-343: This sensor can only respond to liquid directly in contact with the detection element, and is unable to detect a product release floating on an existing pool of water whose height exceeds the level of the detection element.

TLS-4 8601 Series

(The TLS-4 8601 Series consists of the following derivatives: TLS-4, TLS-4B, TLS-4c, TLS-4i, and TLS-S1 consoles.)

**Evaluations determined these sensors' responses to the liquids shown above. Biodiesel blends B6-B20 meeting ASTM D7467 and biodiesel B100 meeting ASTM D6751 would also produce an alarm if the sensor threshold is exceeded. Responses to these fuels were not determined, but would be expected to be very similar to the diesel responses.

***This sensor is identified as an interstitial sensor, but will function properly in other containment areas such as containment sumps, contained risers and other contained enclosures. This sensor must be installed at the lowest point of the containment enclosure to insure early detection of liquids.

****TLS-4 Series testing did not include testing with E85 and used oil. Evaluator expects comparable results from previous testing with other consoles listed.

Specificity Results:

Evaluator claims both 794380-343 and 794380-344sensors will respond in any liquid after the sensor threshold is exceeded.
Sensor 794380-343 is designed to discriminate between product and water. Separate alarms are designed to be triggered for product and water.

Manufacturer's Specifications:
Sensors 794380-343 and 794380-344 can be removed, cleaned, and reinstalled, for periodic testing, if an alarm is triggered or if service is necessary.
Sensor 794380-343 has no moving parts.
Sensor 794380-344 is designed for use in contained risers and the interstitial space of double-wall steel tanks. When product or an open sensor (referred to as "Sensor Out") is detected, an audible alarm is actuated, a message is displayed on the TLS-350 or TLS-350R console, and a printed message is generated if the console is equipped with a printer. The alarms are also recorded as part of the TLS-350 or TLS-350R "Alarm History Report".
Comparison of TLS-450 with TLS-350 series console showed comparable results when evaluated with representative sensors.
