The Sustainable Groundwater Management Act (SGMA) requires that a groundwater extraction report be filled with the State Water Resources Control Board (State Water Board) from pumpers who:
- Extract groundwater from a probationary basin 90 days or more from the State Water Board designating the basin as probationary, or
- Extract groundwater on or after July 1, 2017, from areas not covered by a Groundwater Sustainability Agency (GSA), and where the county itself is not the GSA.
A groundwater extractions reporting system is currently under development. Additional information is coming soon.
