Bay-Delta Plan Update: Lower San Joaquin River and Southern Delta

The State Water Board is in the process of developing and implementing updates to the Bay-Delta Plan to protect beneficial uses in the Bay-Delta watershed through two separate efforts. This web page provides information on the first effort, which focuses on Lower San Joaquin River flows and southern Delta salinity. Proposed Final Amendments and SED

On August 21-22, 2018, the Board heard oral comment on the “Proposed Amendments to the Water Quality Control Plan for the San Francisco Bay/Sacramento–San Joaquin Delta Estuary and Final Substitute Environmental Document;” however, final action by the Board will be continued to a future Board meeting on November 7, 2018. See revised agenda and notice below.

On July 6, 2018, the State Water Board released a final proposal to amend the Bay-Delta Plan (Proposed Final Amendments) and a Final SED.

  • Comprehensive Review And Update To The Bay-Delta Plan Workshops
    The notice and information received (including written submittals, presentations given at the workshops, and video/audio recordings of the workshops) as part of the State Water Board's September, October, and November 2012 workshops to inform the Comprehensive Review and Update of the Bay-Delta Water Quality Control Plan.

 

  • Peer Review of Technical Report on the Scientific Basis for Alternative San Joaquin River Flow and Southern Delta Salinity Objectives (Posted November 21, 2011).

  • November 22, 2010 - Notice of Opportunity for Public Comment for any additional information related to the San Joaquin River flow and southern Delta salinity objectives included in the 2006 Water Quality Control Plan for the San Francisco Bay/ Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta Estuary. 
    • Written comments - Deadline for written materials and comments was February 8, 2011 by Noon

 

  • Vernalis Adaptive Management Plan (VAMP) Review: to assist in the update of the San Joaquin River flow objectives in the 2006 Bay-Delta Plan, the Delta Science Program (DSP) has commissioned a panel of independent experts to review the VAMP. The VAMP review will be held March 2-3, 2010, at 650 Capitol Mall in Sacramento.

  • February 13, 2009 - Notice of Preparation and of Scoping Meeting for Environmental Documentation for the Update and Implementation of the Bay Delta Plan: Southern Delta Salinity and San Joaquin River Flows.  Scheduled for March 30, 2009. Deadline for written comments was March 19, 2009 (by noon)
